Black Sheet (Hot)

Abstract

As the name implies, this product is produced by hot rolling, the black plate is manufactured at high temperatures in the factories. The decolorization is rolled in primary and final rolling and gradually decreases in thickness to 1.2 to 16 mm and then marketed as coils. Sometimes a series of tasks such as reducing the weight of the coil, improving the mechanical properties, leveling of the sheet, light and heavy cutting of the sheet are carried out to complete the hot rolling operation. Black sheets are used in the construction of dams, petrochemicals and heavy industries. The black plate is identified by two standards ST37 and ST52.

Black Sheet Standards

Ordinary sheet or ST37

The ST37 standard black sheet is one of the steel used for construction purposes. ST37 black sheets are widely used in industry and construction because of their low carbon content, high strength. Also the weldability of this type of sheet is very high. It is suitable for steel sections such as joists, corners, rebar, profiles and studs.

Industrial Sheet or ST52

 It is one of the construction and industrial sheets used in industrial applications along with industrial black sheets. The ST52 has high bending and torsion resistance, elasticity and high weight bearing due to the presence of silicon (Si) and manganese (Mn) elements in the ST52 black sheet structure. It also has good weldability and can be molded and machined. This sheet is used in the construction of sections such as quadrilateral and belt. Construction of bridges, cranes, rails, heavy machinery chassis and industrial components are among its applications. ST52 black sheets are manufactured in Iranian factories with dimensions of 1.5 * 6 m and 6 * 2 m. European countries and East Asian steel mills also produce larger sheets of black paper.

Black sheets also have another category, called the A516, which is used in the oil and gas, tank and boiler industries. These types of sheets are produced in four grades:
    A516 Gr 70
     A516 Gr 60
     A516 Gr 65
     A516 Gr 55


The grid difference of these black sheets means that they differ in the pressure, temperature, tensile, impact and lens capability. In principle, the A516 sheet is a high carbon steel sheet with other elements, such as phosphorus, very low sulfur. Also, the presence of elements such as manganese and silicon to the maximum permitted in the structure of this type of black sheet, makes it more bending and quality properties.
